OHIO ROLLER DERBY KICKS OFF 20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH DOUBLE-HEADER AT THE RHODES CENTER

Ohio Roller Derby (OHRD) is celebrating our 20th year, so get ready to ring in this special anniversary with us! The theme of our season is OHRD: The Heart of Derby — a celebration of our identity, history, and love for our sport, with a nod to Ohio’s state tourism slogan. Grab your green, black, and any weird and wacky Ohio-themed getups you have and join in the celebration!

In true Ohio fashion, due to construction at the state fairgrounds, this season will look a bit different from years past. Most notably, it will happen in two distinct parts: the first half with three games in February and March, and the second half with three games later this year. We will be skating in different venues (some with reduced capacity) and navigating some on-site construction.

We will kick off the first part of our home season at the Ohio Expo Center with back-to-back exhibition games in the Rhodes Center on February 8, 2025. Tickets for the home opener will be available to purchase beginning on Friday, January 17 on our ticketing page. The Rhodes Center has a lower capacity and a few quirks, so be sure to get your tickets early and thoroughly check out the tickets page for more info on parking, seating, and more!

Here’s the lineup for part one of our home season:

  • Saturday, February 8 at the Rhodes Center
  • Saturday, March 8 at the Rhodes Center
  • Saturday, March 29 at Kasich Hall

The first part of the season will be at the Ohio Expo Center (717 E. 17th Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43211). For each game, doors will open at 4 pm; the All Stars will face off at 5 pm; and OHRD’s B team, Gang Green, will take the track around 7 pm. Schmidt’s Sausage Haus will have concessions, and Ohio Roller Derby merchandise will be available for purchase. Folks who purchase tickets will receive more detailed information about venue navigation and everything else they need to know before they go.

Details about the second part of our season will be released following the conclusion of part one, so stay tuned — and get excited about three more games!
