Who inspires you?
My teammates and the amazing folks in the world of derby.

What is your sports background?
Very little! I played youth soccer and then tried sports again when I found roller derby.

How/why did you pick your derby name?
If it’s not obvious, it’s play on words for musician Lana Del Rey – Lara Del Rage, but you can call me Rage.

Do you have any pre- or post-bout rituals?
Stretch, throw on some music that energizes me, and dance while I make myself a yummy and nutritious breakfast.

Do you have a favorite or signature derby move?
I’m learning my go-to moves include side surfing on the line to get around blockers and anything that involves backwards skating.

How has derby impacted your life?
Derby has impacted my life in all the ways, especially in recognizing the strengths within myself. I think a lot of women and femmes, like myself, have similar experiences with body image and how it affects self confidence. Through roller derby, I’ve found that confidence and have a deeper appreciation for my body and how it works for me. I have endless love for my team and the support they give me.

Any other fun facts about yourself?
I’m the cool gay aunt.
