Number of years playing derby:
How did you get into derby?
I was looking for a mentally and physically challenging sport. I definitely found it.
What are your other hobbies?
I play tennis, binge watch TV, and play board games with my sons. I’m currently trying to destroy them at Munchkin, but haven’t won a game yet.
Who inspires you?
Steffi Graf–she is an athletic, graceful, humble champion in sport and life.
What is your sports background?
I grew up on a baseball field with my three brothers. I’ve played a lot of sports, some good (softball and tennis) and some bad (basketball and golf). But I always have fun, win or lose.
How/why did you pick your derby name?
I’m the worst at making decisions, so a former OHRD skater, Acid, helped me. I miss her.
Do you have any pre- or post-bout rituals?
No. I don’t believe in rituals. Mostly I pretend not to be nervous.
Do you have a favorite or signature derby move?
My teammates will say it is stabbing them with my bony hips and shoulders.
How has derby impacted your life?
It has made it more interesting and richer. Derby attracts fun, extremely intelligent, and socially conscientious people. I have learned a lot from them.
